Aufguss/Infusion is a multisensory sauna ritual from Germany that combines water and ice with essential oils, towel movements, and music to create a unique ambience while elevating your standard sauna round. Infusions start on the half hour and are subject to our sauna masters' availability.
IMPORTANT: As infusions are complimentary and not all guests fit at once, you can join one infusion at the end of you session: For Example: if you have booked 2pm-4pm, you can join the infusion at 3:30pm and end your session on the communal steam.
Managing the heat is crucial during Aufguss. The sauna master controls the temperature and humidity levels by pouring water infused with essential oils over hot stones. Gradually increasing the heat and strategically using bursts of steam ensures that our guests remain comfortable while still experiencing the heat's cleansing and energizing properties.
Aromatherapy is a central part of Aufguss. The choice of essential oils is closely linked to the theme of the session. For example, eucalyptus and mint can promote clarity and energy, while lavender and sandalwood may encourage relaxation.
The sauna master uses a towel to circulate the hot air, controlling how the heat reaches participants. Different towel techniques can create various sensations - gentle waves of heat for relaxation or sharper bursts for a more intense experience.
This holistic approach ensures that your sauna session is a well-rounded, sensory-rich experience that promotes relaxation, rejuvenation, and physical wellbeing.
A few points to help you get the most out of your sauna session..
Complimentary filtered water, tea, one bench towel, and slippers are provided with each visit.
Please bring a water bottle, 2 bath towels, or one towel and a robe for your session. Both are also available for hire at an additional cost (Towel $7, Robe $15).
You may share your pack with friends and family, provided you sauna together. If you are bringing guests, you must book multiple spots under your name. For example: Jane is sharing her pack with 4 friends. Jane books 5 spots, meaning 5 individual bookings under her name.
A single booking covers one spot only, and we may not be able to accommodate additional guests if they are not booked. If you are unsure, feel free to give us a quick call to confirm your booking (0438 287 252).
Others cannot use your passes without you present, so please do not book for other people under your name unless they are attending with you.
Health and Wellbeing
- Don't forget to bring your water bottle as hydration throughout your session is critical.
- Avoid eating a large meal prior to your session, but don't sauna on an empty stomach.
- Sit Sweat Chill Repeat - Listen to your body, push yourself responsibly and take time to rest/chill properly. It's not a competition!
- Please observe our sauna etiquette and be respectful of others and the facility.
